SRMS COLLEGE OF NURSING MARKS ‘WORLD DIABETES DAY’ WITH INTERACTIVE ROLE-PLAY ON ‘ACCESS TO DIABETES CARE’ AT SAHU THAKUR DAS INTER COLLEGE

On World Diabetes Day, SRMS College of Nursing, Bareilly organized an interactive Role-Play performance on the theme ‘Access to Diabetes Care: Empowering Better Health for All’ at Sahu Thakur Das Inter College, Dhaura Tanda, Bareilly, which saw an enthusiastic participation of GNM 2nd year students raising awareness about diabetes, educating patients & caregivers, and promoting effective diabetes management practices.

Attended by teachers & students of Sahu Thakur Das Inter College, students actively engaged in learning about diabetes management including lifestyle adjustments, medication adherence and handling emergency situations. The play began with imparting education on emergency responses to hypo- and hyperglycemia, managing diet and exercise, and addressing emotional well-being. Acting as patients, family members, and doctors, the students portrayed real-life challenges and engaged the audience in scenarios on managing blood sugar levels, reduce stigma & communicating with healthcare providers.  The audience and on-lookers were encouraged to ask questions & shared similar experiences, fostering a supportive learning environment.

Later,Dr Pankaj Garg, JR2, Department of Community Medicine, SRMS IMS gave a fruitful session on health education and provided consultation on causes, symptoms, treatment & prevention of Diabetes Mellitus. Overall, the World Diabetes Day activity offered hands-on learning & empowered individuals living with diabetes.
