Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) College of Nursing, Bareilly commemorated World Environment Day with an engaging ‘Plantation Drive’ at its lush-green campus, symbolizing the institution’s commitment to restoring & preserving the environment. Based on this year’s theme, ‘Land Restoration, Desertification & Drought Resilience,’ the drive aimed to raise awareness about crucial environmental issues like climate change, global warming, extreme weather conditions, imbalanced ecosystems etc.

During the drive, Dr Muthu Maheshwari, Principal, SRMS College of Nursing emphasized upon the urgent need to mitigate the ill-effects of environmental concerns, preserve the planet’s health & encouraged students to adopt sustainable practices. During her address, she urged everyone to create a greener environment. Following this, nursing students administered an oath to keep the environment clean and green& gave enthusiastic involvement in tree plantation. Thereafter, all faculties and students planted various saplings while enhancing the campuses’ green cover. Overall, the plantation drive was a collaborative initiative, wherein everyone promoted environmental consciousness and community engagement, making environment day celebration a significant day to address environmental challenges, and contributing towards sustainable environmental practices. The drive was thoughtfully executed by Caring Hands club’s President Riya & Vice President Manas Tarun.
