Day four of the Orientation Week, ‘Aarambh – 2020’, organised by SRMS CET, Bareilly, for new students of MBA and MCA, was filled with learning as noted speakers led various lectures on management and technologies.
To start with, Dr. Ruchi Jain Garg, Head of the MBA Department, led a seminar on the power of 5 I’s of marketing – Identification, Individualism, Interaction, Integration, and Integrity – and how they can keep their most valuable customers loyal.
Next was a guest lecture by Mr. Yogendra Tripathi, Associate Vice President, HDFC Bank, who spoke on finance, the history of banks in India, and banking opportunities. He ended the engaging session with a memorable quote: “Play to your strengths, work on your weaknesses, and understand yourself.”
The talk was followed by another, this time led by SRMS alumnus (MCA, 2001-03) Mr. Rachit Jain, Regional Risk & Security Officer (APAC, CMEA,SEA), Compass Group. He discussed various topics such as operational behavior, ethics, team management, and cyber security. Motivating the students towards the path to success, he emphasised, “A wise person knows there is something to be learned from everyone.”
The day was wrapped up with an online video session with Mr. Vinod Kumar, HoD, Management and Humanities, IIT Lucknow. He discussed social media marketing and the steady growth of social media trends in India over the last years. He also spoke about Hindustan Unilever’s (HUL) Kan Khajura Tesan platform and its initiative to inject a dose of entertainment into the lives of millions of people in rural India. He highlighted how in just two months, it amassed as many as 4 million users.
