“Today was indeed a very special day for coronavirus-positive patients at SRMS IMS. The true values upon which the hospital is built are instilled in all its stakeholders and this has been seen and felt many times.
Today morning at 8:00 AM, when duties were changed, nurses entered the ward with rakhis, sweets, and chocolates. They tied it on the wrists of patients, regardless of their name, race or religion.
Atif Khan, a coronavirus patient, was overcome with emotion when a nurse tied rakhi on his wrist. He shared that it was after 8 long years that someone had tied rakhi on him because the one person who used to – his cousin sister – was transferred to Rajasthan.
Patients aside, 200+ frontline medical warriors such as doctors, paramedical personnel, technicians, and fourth class staff celebrated Raksha Bandhan, and 134 female staff received gifts and suits.”
