With an aim to contribute towards noble cause and selfless act of donating blood & saving lives, SRMSIMS Blood Centre of Department of Transfusion Medicine at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly conducted a week-long Voluntary Blood Donation Camps on account of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, at SRMS IMS, SRMS CET as well as in Baheri ( by Humanity First Welfare Society & Gracious Welfare Society, Baheri). This voluntary initiative was held in commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti & 36th Punyatithi of Late Shri Ram Murti Ji — a freedom fighter, Former UP Minister & ex-Parliamentarian.
Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust inaugurated the camp at IMS & CET in the presence of Er Subhash Mehra, Trust Advisor; Dr (Air Marshal) MS Butola, Principal IMS & Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Principal, SRMS CET respectively. Overall, 150 units of blood was collected for the well-being of community.
Based on the theme ‘Voluntary Blood Donation’, the camp also featured Reel Making ( winners -Mansi Muskan, Pranjal & Prashansha) &Just a Minute Competition ( winner -Amrit). The added highlight was an engaging challenge between all MBBS batches, who competed with one another, motivated & recruited the maximum number of donors, for bagging the title of ‘Best Blood Donation Motivator of the Year’, which was finally grabbed by MBBS, Batch 2023.
Later, Aditya Murti, Director Administration, SRMSIMS gave certificates and mementos to the blood donors & participants, and Dr Milan Jaiswal, Professor & Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine, expressed gratitude for their contribution to this life-saving effort.
