Annual fests are marquee events for B Schools and something that all management aspirants look forward to. And as far as college fests go, it doesn’t get much bigger and better than Carpe Diem, the Annual Cultural Fest of IIM Kolkata. Three students from SRMS IBS had the opportunity to represent their B School at the fest and have an experience that will be etched in their minds.
Carpe Diem attracts students from all over the country in large numbers and has become one the most anticipated events in the lives of management aspirants. Business plan, joka roadies are some of the popular competitions, while Armageddon (rock, metal, jazz music bands), Fashion show, Drama, Street play are cultural events that attract crowds in large numbers. The campus is decked up for the revelries and the vibe is electric.
This time, three top students from SRMS IBS – Sanjay Jena, Akshay Srivastava and Indranil Maji were chosen to represent the B School in the Business Plan competition. It was a huge opportunity for them to match their wits and strategies with some of the best young minds from top management institutes from all over the country. It offered them huge exposure and helped enhance their presentation skills.
The students were also thrilled to soak in the high energy and be a part of the revelries. The highlight of the event was the presence of renowned author Ruskin Bond, who offered words of wisdom to the students. Laghori Band, DJ Nucleya, Sachin-Jigar were some of the powerful musical acts that had the audiences grooving through the evening. Overall it made for a lively and fun experience for the students filled with immense learning too.
