8 February 2018 marked the day of the 17th Annual Convocation ceremony for Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) CET, Bareilly. The event held at the SRMS CET, Bareilly campus also marked the 6th convocation of SRMS CETR, Bareilly and 3rd convocation of SRMS CET, Lucknow all of which were conducted simultaneously in one grand ceremony. The venue was Shri Ram Murti Centennial Auditorium.
The date is of special significance for SRMS Trust since it marks the birth anniversary of Late Shri Ram Murti Ji, the inspiration behind the Trust. The chief guests for the event were Prof.(Dr.) R.K Singh, Hon’ble VC & Director Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly and Mr Harsh Malhotra, Vice President of Siemens Healthcare Ltd, Gurgaon.
The ceremony began at 11:15 am with the assembly of dignitaries and other participants. Once the procession reached the venue the proceedings were officially started with lighting of the Ceremonial Lamp of learning by the Chief Guest followed by invocation of Saraswati Vandana and College Geet.
Welcome address by Shri Aditya Murti Ji, Secretary of SRSM Trust and presentation of Annual Report by Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) Prabhakar Gupta were the first events of the Ceremony. Scholarships of over Rs 1.22crs had been announced during the year for 427 meritorious students of MBA, MCA, B.Tech. B.Pharm. This highlight of the Annual Report drew a lot of cheers from the attendees given that it showed a 7.5% growth from last year’s already large number.
After this, the Chief Guests Prof. (Dr.)R.K Singh VC and Mr Harsh Malhotra completed their address to the students which provided a lot of inspiration to the graduating students.
The fresh graduates were then handed over their hard-earned degrees by the Chief Guests, which was followed by the award of merit certificates to students across all courses.
Trust Chairman Shri Dev Murti Ji addressed students and urged them to continue working hard and hold up the values that SRMS Trust stands for.
The program ended with presentation of mementos to the dignitaries and vote of thanks, followed by a rendition of the national anthem.
