National Conference 2015

SRMS International Business School, organized a two-day international Conference on “Managing Business growth with the Bottom of the Pyramid Strategy ” on February 16-17, 2015. The Conference was intended as a forum for establishing interface with industry and academia’s most influential thought leaders, on the impact of BOP market on business strategies.

The Conference was attended by over 150 delegates pan India, making it a huge success!

Collage Competition and Radio Jingle Competition

On February 6, 2015, the Cultural Club Mania organized Collage Competition and Radio Jingle Competition. The theme for Collage Competition was ‘Globally Visible’. Participating teams had to make their Collage on any sub-theme in congruence with the main theme and present its collage. For Radio Jingle completion products like Odomos, Boroplus, Moov, Yippie Noodles etc were worked upon in the competition. Students presented catchy musical interludes for their products showcasing their talent and
creativity.

Republic Day Celebration

66th Republic Day was celebrated on 26 January, 2015 with much zeal and spirit, to commemorate the date and moment when the Constitution of India came into effect. The celebration commenced with the Flag Hoisting by Prof. Shyamal Gupta, Director SRMS International Business School followed by the national anthem. The students presented a whole gamut of performances including solo songs, poem recitation, group
song and a role play on different perspectives of people for National Festivals in India.

Annual Sports Meet 2014

Sports meets aim at imparting lessons on sportsman spirit and companionship to people. It was with this aim in mind that SRMS International Business School, Lucknow organized ‘LAKSHYA 2014‘, an Inter college Sports Meet on November 22, 2014. This event is one of the most awaited ones amongst the students and as a result, almost everybody participated in one sport or the other.

Prof. Shyamal Gupta, Director SRMSIBS and Prof. (Dr.) A K Khanna, Principal, SRMS CET, Lucknow were the guests of honour. The meet began with Relay of the Torch and the Athletes’ March Past. The Chief Guest administered the oath to the athletes, thereafter hoisting the flag and declaring the Meet open. Events for the day included 100m races, badminton, volleyball, javelin & discus throw, shot put, iron man and iron woman matches. The indoor games included chess, table tennis & carrom. Preliminary sessions were held for a week to list the name of nal candidates who performed on the day of the event. The anticipation in the afternoon ended with the results’ declaration. The smiling faces of students were a result of their efforts. It was exhilarating when the voice of SRMS students cut through the cool evening air as they proudly cheered for their college name.

All in all, it was an event thoroughly enjoyed by students and Faculties alike.

“PHOENIX” AD fest 2014

SRMS-International Business School conducted its Annual event of celebrating student’s creativity beyond the classroom “PHOENIX” ADfest 2014 by its marketing club on Dec 09, 2014. The event showcased the marketing communication creative’s conceived and executed by 2013- 15 batch students under three categories viz Broadcast, Print and Out-of-home. The five teams who showcased their creativity have chosen different products viz. noodles, language classes, bike, sound amplifier system and alternate energy sources.

The teams were expected to create an imposing andintegrated campaign which is a challenging test of determination and creative excellence. The competing teams presented their campaigns to a jury of senior figures from the advertising, marketing and communications industry and academia, who assessed the participating teams. The teams displayed their creativity by putting into action social, ecological, rational, humor and emotional appeals. The winner team “ALIVE” was able to fascinate the imagination of audience and draw favour from the judges with their brain stimulating communication for a sound amplifier system. Another team ‘NIGHTHAWKS’ creative effort for a bike promotion was also appreciated making them emerge as the runners-up for the event.

Beyond the fun and frolic the event was also marked by instigative skits on social and moral issues which are a victim of being disregarded usually. The event was graced by the Director of the institute Prof. Shyamal Gupta and had representations from industry and academia to encourage the students

National Conference 2014

SRMS International Business, organized a one-day National Conference on “FDI in India: Changing Trends and Seizing Opportunities“ on December 6, 2014. The Conference was intended as a forum for establishing interface with industry and academia’s most influential thought leaders, on the impact of Foreign Direct Investment in India.

The august gathering in the conference was given a warm welcome by Prof. Shyamal Gupta, Director SRMS International Business School and Prof G.K Sharma, Advisor SRMS International Business School. In the plenary session, the keynote address was delivered by Prof. Surender Kumar, Director Giri Institute of Development Studies, Lucknow. While addressing the gathering, Prof. Surender Kumar spoke on the recent FDI policy changes; particularly emphasizing upon the Impact of FDI on Socio- economic development of the nation, so that maximum benefits could be exploited.

Post plenary session, the first technical session was chaired by Prof Ramesh Dixit, a renowned Thinker and Analyst. In this session Prof. Arvind Mohan, Director Institute of Management Science, Lucknow University, presented his unique perspective on the impact of FDI in multi-brand retailing. Thereafter, Dr. Sanjay Medhavi HOD, Department of Business Administration, Lucknow University threw light on the challenges and future prospects of FDI.

Post lunch, various parallel paper presentation sessions were held on various Conference tracks including Impact of FDI in the Socio- economic development of the nation; FDI inflow in the Service Sector; FDI inflow in the Infrastructure; FDI inflow in the Retail Sector; FDI inflow in the Capital Market; Challenges and Future prospects of the FDI; and FDI in Defence Sector.

The Conference was attended by over 100 delegates pan India, making it a huge success!

A guest lecture was organised at SRMSIBS by Mr. Abhishek Dave ( Senior Manager- NSE) and enlightened the students on the topic, “Securities market and common man”.

Fresher’s Day 2014

“Fresher’s Day” in any college is an event which every student eagerly awaits from the time of their admissions. Seniors of Sri Ram Murti Smarak International Business School (Batch 2013-15) organized a Fresher’s Party on October 11, 2014.

At dusk of October 11, the event began with a welcome ‘Tilak’ on the foreheads of freshers, as they moved into the auditorium, where the mind blowing event awaited them. Beginning with bowing our heads before goddess of knowledge, i.e. Saraswati Vandana, the stage was quickly taken over by two extemporaneous hosts, who presented the flow of events in most hilarious manner.

The event was attended by all faculty members. Meanwhile, amidst fun and mimicry the Introduction Round of the Fashion Show began, where the freshers had to formally introduce themselves. This was followed by theramp walk by all freshers and seniors as well. Every participant was dressed dashingly and was leaving fire on the ramp. It was a perfect blend of traditional & western, casual, ethnic and corporate styles of dressing.

The jury shortlisted top eight contestants from the freshers, for the talent round. The talents round observed exhilarating dance performances, poem recitations, soulful singing performances etc. Immediately after the talent round the candidates ascended to question and answer round.

The event was full of funny and interactive fillers per se. The seniors had put great efforts in planning, organizing and scripting the event, which was equivalently complemented by the spontaneous performances of the juniors and audience. Finally, the event wound up with the crowning of Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2014.

Even after the consummation of the formal ceremony, the party continued on the dance floor till late night. The day was full of enjoyment and excitement that left many in fatigue and with sore throats, by the time the dance floor got cleared up. The event was highly appreciated and was a success in maintaining the legacy that has flowed in the SRMS-IBS family.
