On March 12, at SRMS IBS, students held a discussion session to review the first full-year budget released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. The students discussed the significance of the budget allocation for different sectors, key takeaways, the hits, and misses. Students analyzed the budget not only as consumers but also as makers of the budget. The Director SRMS IBS Prof. Shyamal Gupta gave a new dimension to the discussion where he shared the macro economic view of the budget. He focused on how the government is actually putting words into action by allocating major portion of the funds towards Capital Expenditure for “Make in India”.
