A fun-filled Fresher’s Party took place for the B Tech 2022 batch of Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering Technology & Research on December 10th, 2022 at main auditorium of CETR campus. Based on the theme ‘CARPEDIEM’, the event proved apt to its theme, and seized the day with full enjoyment and enthusiasm. For beginners, the fresher’s bash was full of excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness.
The ‘fuchchas’ party with the dress code ‘dress your best’, kicked-off with the welcoming of the dignitaries that was followed by sapling presentation, garlanding, lighting the ceremonial lamp and Ganesh Vandana. Then it was time for some cultural extravaganza, wherein several mesmerising singing and dancing performances took place. The highlights of the party were solo and duet singing, solo and duet dancing, group song, poetry, shaayari, rap singing, beat boxing rap song and stand-up comedy by seniors as well as fresher’s, which was a visual treat for everyone. Mock Rock—a performance of songs based on funny body movements and facial expressions, remained the eye-catcher of the evening that was performed exceptionally well by hostellers and day-scholars. Later, the much-awaited segment of the Fresher’s Party arrived, which was a Fashion Show that remained the cynosure of all eyes, wherein boys and girls walked the ramp with style, in the best of their outfits. The fashion show had three rounds of judgement, and based on talent, creativity and brains, the deserving winners were adjudged with titles and tags for their admirable performances by the panel of judges. Soon after this, fun-filled games were played including balloon bursting, paper fold, musical chairs that kept the students engrossed till the end. The filler performances of picking up random persons from the audience or the crew added cherry to the pie.
Earlier, the fresher’s been given a warm welcome and address by Professor Dr LS Maurya, Principal at SRMS CETR. The inauguration ceremony was anchored by Samreen Khanam, Yash Vardhan Gupta, Priyanshi Agarwal and Shivam Pandey. Later, the winners of several cultural performances and games were announced that was a stage of achievements for the contestants, and were gifted with hampers and rewards as follows—
