‘IIt was a homecoming to his beloved campus for Mr. Waseem Ahmad Khan as he delivered a talk to PGDM students at SRMS IBS. The session held on 17th Jan was a part of the Alumni Speaks series, which is a highly anticipated industry engagement event at the institute. It not only offers students a slice of real life corporate experience but they also get to interact with a senior who has been in their position before not long ago.
That was particularly true of Mr. Khan who completed his PGDM in 2014. But in a short span of time he has scaled heights of success in his chosen field. He started his career with Superhouse Group where he worked on boosting the sales of company’s products in International markets like Dubai, Sharjah, Bahrain, Russia, Spain and Germany. He took students through his journey as a professional with the company and shared firsthand experiences.
Today, Mr. Khan works as a Manager – International Business Development with R V Industries. The company is a leading name in export business of fall protection and safety garments. He spearheads the company’s operations in Middle East and Europe, which can be a demanding role. As he talked to the students about his daily responsibilities and challenges they got a fair idea of what’s expected of them in the industry in the future.
Listening to Mr. Khan talk about career progression from campus placement, was of great interest to the students as they prepare for their professional journeys ahead. Of course, the speaker of the day had a lot in common with the students as he has been there and done that himself. He urged them to make the most of the opportunities and platforms SRMS IBS offers them so that they can transform themselves into successful professionals like him.
