SRMS International Business, organized a one-day National Conference on “FDI in India: Changing Trends and Seizing Opportunities“ on December 6, 2014. The Conference was intended as a forum for establishing interface with industry and academia’s most influential thought leaders, on the impact of Foreign Direct Investment in India.
The august gathering in the conference was given a warm welcome by Prof. Shyamal Gupta, Director SRMS International Business School and Prof G.K Sharma, Advisor SRMS International Business School. In the plenary session, the keynote address was delivered by Prof. Surender Kumar, Director Giri Institute of Development Studies, Lucknow. While addressing the gathering, Prof. Surender Kumar spoke on the recent FDI policy changes; particularly emphasizing upon the Impact of FDI on Socio- economic development of the nation, so that maximum benefits could be exploited.
Post plenary session, the first technical session was chaired by Prof Ramesh Dixit, a renowned Thinker and Analyst. In this session Prof. Arvind Mohan, Director Institute of Management Science, Lucknow University, presented his unique perspective on the impact of FDI in multi-brand retailing. Thereafter, Dr. Sanjay Medhavi HOD, Department of Business Administration, Lucknow University threw light on the challenges and future prospects of FDI.
Post lunch, various parallel paper presentation sessions were held on various Conference tracks including Impact of FDI in the Socio- economic development of the nation; FDI inflow in the Service Sector; FDI inflow in the Infrastructure; FDI inflow in the Retail Sector; FDI inflow in the Capital Market; Challenges and Future prospects of the FDI; and FDI in Defence Sector.
The Conference was attended by over 100 delegates pan India, making it a huge success!
