SRMS COLLEGE OF NURSING INITIATES TO PROVIDE HOLISTIC CARE TO CANCER PATIENTS

SRMS College of Nursing, Bareilly organized a Seminar and Quiz Competition in commemoration of World Cancer Day, based on this year’s theme ‘Close the Care Gap’. The event conducted at multi- purpose hall, was organized by third-year students of B Sc Nursing under the supervision of Rahul Yadhuvanshi, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing.
The event aimed at creating awareness about the prevention and early detection of cancer among the nursing students and faculty members. The idea behind observing the day was to support the cancer patients in their fight against cancer, and to aware others about this disease.
The event began with the welcome address by B Sc Nursing third-year students, Harneet Kaur and Navneet Kaur. The event saw wonderfully explained presentations by Navneet Kaur, Ankita Minhas, Shobha Chauhan, Suraj Rawal Presha Maria Julious, Amit Gangwar and Harneet Kaur, which added to the knowledge of all the students. This was followed by an interesting Quiz competition that consisted of three rounds, and participants were supposed to answer in a limited time of 40 seconds. Among the four teams of two students each, participants were Amarpreet Kaur and Sakshi Singh from Team A, Annapurna and Navneet Kaur from Team B, Amit Gangwar and Rimjhim from Team C and Kajal Koranga and Shivani Singh from Team D, wherein Team A was adjudged as winners.
During the event, Aneesh Chandran, Vice Principal, faculty members, GNM first & third year, ANM second year and B Sc Nursing fourth year students were present. The event emphasized upon the crucial role of nursing professionals in providing holistic care to cancer patients, and ended with a vote of thanks given by Harneet Kaur.
