On the 28th Death Anniversary of the Great Freedom Fighter, Ex. Parliamentarian & Ex. Minister of U.P. State Late Shri Ram Murti Ji, Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) Trust, Bareilly launched the ‘Classroom on Wheels’. The Classroom On Wheels was inaugurated by Dr. A. P. Singh, Former MLC, Retired ED – Camphor & Allied Products Limited, Bareilly and a follower of Late Shri Ram Murti Ji.

The intention behind this concept is that education should reach those who are not able to attend formal schooling and to provide a facility that is conducive to learning for illiterates. The classroom is equipped with smart boards and comfortable seating arrangements. Adult education campaigns will be undertaken in the villages throughout the Rohilkhand Region for starters using this means.

Rtn. Shailendra Deva, the president of Rotary Club, Bareilly West requested the Trust to provide the means for organizing their Adult Literacy Program in the villages around Bareilly District through the participation of the students of Koshish. The Classroom On Wheels is the innovative creation of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology, Bareilly under the leadership of Er. Shailendra Deva and inspiration from Shri Dev Murti Ji.

“Koshish” is an informal group of the students from SRMS College of Engineering & Technology, Bareilly who are already engaged for various social causes like donating stationary items, books and clothes among poor children, educating illiterates from surrounding villages, and organizing awareness campaigns for the marginalized sections.

This is one of the initiatives of Shri Dev Murti Ji, Founder and Managing Trustee, SRMS Trust to contribute to the National Literacy Mission.
