Students of PGDM Batch (2016-18) at SRMS IBS had a unique opportunity to learn while they delivered a seminar on campus recently. The seminar was a part of academic assessment of Group Discussion Content Classes, a recently introduced course title in the PGDM program. Amongst several factors that made the seminar unique was the fact that if offered students a shot at participatory learning, which has immense benefits for them.
Participants had made sure their preparations were spot on as they presented the seminar on various sports leagues in India like IPL (Indian Premier League), HIL (Hockey India League), ISL (Indian Super League) and Pro Kabbadi League. The highlight of the seminar was that it was delivered in role play format and the participants had to enact different scenarios including bidding, auctioning and branding of different sports leagues.
SRMS IBS constantly endeavors to offer its students unique and innovative platforms to showcase their learning and gain further knowledge.
This seminar made the most out of new age teaching pedagogy that creates interaction between students and simulated scenario. As students enacted different roles and reacted to the stimuli around them, they understood crucial management concepts in a fun and engaging manner.
Given the unusual and exciting nature of the seminar, it wasn’t surprising to see students turning out in large numbers with their enthusiasm at its peak. The seminar also offered students a break from the routine of classroom sessions as it was held in the open air auditorium. There was a healthy exchange during the question and answer session that followed the seminar, which made it a resounding success.
