‘VICTORY, CELEBRATION & CAMARADERIE’—SHRI RAM MURTI MEMORIAL INTER-SCHOOL CRICKET TOURNAMENT COMES TO AN EXCITING CLOSE

Exhibiting some fun-filled & thrilling cricket action for cricket buffs in town in pursuit of giving young talent an opportunity, Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) Trust, Bareilly recently organised a mega Shri Ram Murti Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament 2023, affiliated to Bareilly Cricket Association (BCA) from April 15-25, 2023 at SRMS Cricket Stadium in SRMS CET, Bareilly, wherein 17 prominent schools of Bareilly participated in the exciting battle.

The grand Cricket Tournament ended with a breath-taking finale played between Mission Academy, Baheri, Bareilly and Vidya Bhawan Public School, Bareilly on April 25 after a series of closely contested 16 matches that were played in this 10-day tournament. The finale began with greeting and wishing both the team’s good luck. The toss was won by Mission Academy who chose to bat first. After gruelling innings and thrilling encounter, Vidya Bhawan Public School, Bareilly emerged as astounding & ultimate winners of Shri Ram Murti Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament 2023 against Mission Academy (Baheri), Bareilly scoring 114 runs over a loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs (target set by Mission Academy was 113/6 runs). The finale was not less than a roller coaster ride for both the teams and spectators both, and the tournament was surely a wonderful display of exuberant sportsmanship.

The gala closing ceremony at the end of the finale was graced by Chief Guest Rekha Yadav, DRM, NE Railways, Izzatnagar, Bareilly in the presence of Shri Dev Murti, Chairman, SRMS Trust; Aditya Murti, Trust Administrator; Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Dean Academics, SRMS CET; Sita Ram Saxena, Secretary BCA; Er Subhash Mehra, Trust Advisor; Dr LS Maurya, Principal SRMS CETR and Dr Sovan Mohanty, Chief Proctor, SRMS CET.

Later, the Winning as well as Runners-up team were awarded with majestic trophies by the esteemed guests. The ‘Man of the Match’ (finale) was given to Siddharth Pal (Vidya Bhawan); ‘Man of the Tournament’ was clinched by Mohd Arif (Mission Academy) and ‘Best Bowler’ was bagged by Lakshya Sharma (Vidya Bhawan). Thereafter, the closing ceremony culminated with the distribution of prizes and mementos to the respective guests.
