FROM CLASSROOMS TO HOTEL SUITES: SRMS HOTEL MANAGEMENT STUDENTS TURN TOWELS INTO ART IN A POWER-PACKED HOSPITALITY WORKSHOP
Bareilly witnessed ‘creativity meet professionalism’ as the Department of Hotel Management (BHMCT) at SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR), Bareilly hosted an engaging, hands-on workshop that transformed an ordinary classroom into a live hotel suite setup.
The one-day intensive practical session on Housekeeping Towel Origami and Flower Arrangement gave students a true taste of luxury hospitality standards. Conducted by Sapna Thakur, Assistant Professor, Department of Hotel Management, the workshop brought real-world insights straight to the practice tables. Instead of simply learning theory, students rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the role of professional hoteliers.
From elegantly folded swans and intricate towel art designs to vibrant, well-balanced flower arrangements, the session focused on the finer details that define guest experiences in premium hotels and resorts, leaving a lasting impression on guests. What made the session stand out was the energy in the room. Students enthusiastically and confidently experimented with folds, textures, symmetry, and color combinations, and learnt the importance of aesthetics and discipline in housekeeping operations, being one of the most critical pillars of hospitality management.
Dr Shailesh Saxena, Dean Academics, SRMS CET&R encouraged students to continuously sharpen their professional competencies to meet global hospitality standards.
