A 2 day event dedicated to the Union Budget 2024-25 was organized in SRMS IBS by “DRAVYA- THE FINANCE CLUB”, on February 1, 2024 and February 2, 2024. On Day One (February 1, 2024), the event began with Lamp Lightening and reverence to MAA SARASWATI by Respected Dean Sir and Faculty Club Coordinators. The event proceeded with live streaming of the Union Budget presented by Honorable Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman Ji in the Parliament. The streaming was viewed by Faculty and Students with full concentration to explore opportunities in the upcoming financial year. After closure of the budget speech, Day One of event ended with the National Anthem.
With the experience of Day One being the facilitator, the students got thorough with the budget speech and came out with their points of view in form of presentations on Day Two of the event (February 2, 2024). As with the Day One, the second day began with Lamp Lightening and reverence to MAA SARASWATI by Respected Dean Sir and Faculty Club Coordinators. Further, students’ presentations followed giving a well-rounded view of the budget. The Students presented their research study on allocations and provisions made in the budget for various sectors of the Indian economy namely, Defence Sector, Health Care Sector, Education Sector, Railways, Agriculture Sector, IT and Telecommunications Sector and Review of Income Tax Slabs.
The presentations were carried on enthusiastically by participants along with reasoned discussions.
The winners of the presentations were as follows:
- First position – Team Defence Sector, presented by Abhinav Awasthi (BBA – IV Sem), Dewansh Singh (BBA – IV Sem), Shivanshi Singh (BBA – IV Sem), Jai Kumar (BBA – II Sem), and Anushka Rai (B.Com Hons. – II Sem)
- Second position – Team Railways Sector, presented by Mohd. Anas (BBA – VI Sem), Ayush Srivastava (BBA – VI Sem), Shubhangi Jaisawal (BBA – VI Sem), and Asmit Kushwaha (BBA – VI Sem)
- Third position – Tie between Team Health Care Sector, presented by – Sandeep, Rishika Keshari, Dev Patra, Abhisehk Kasera, Angel Jaiswal, and Akansha Sinha, (all BBA II Sem students) and Team IT and Telecommunications Sector, presented by Nilesh Kotarya (BCA II- Sem) and Anurag Singh (BCA –II Sem
The event ended after prize distribution and the National Anthem. That the event was successful was largely due to the combined efforts of Faculty, Staff, and Students.
