Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) Trust Institutions Bareilly, in collaboration with Tyro Club of SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET) recently organized its two-day cultural extravaganza — ‘ZEST 2023’ on the theme Parakram —वृद्धि उपनिधि. A highlight of this extravaganza was an electrifying ‘STAR NIGHT,’ featuring the co-founder & Lead Vocalist Shaheen Salmani and her band ‘ROCKNAAMA’. Hailing from Delhi, this renowned Sufi rock group had previously captivated audience as celebrated finalists in the ‘Hunarbaaz’ competition on Colors channel.
The night pulsed with infectious energy as Shaheen Salmani with her band kicked off the performance with the soulful strains of ‘Kaise hua’, effortlessly transitioning into a lively party atmosphere with nostalgic 90s classics like ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ & ‘Gulabi Aankhen’. The musical journey continued to blaze a trail through 2000s pop landscape, which attracted the crowd with hits like ‘Desi Girl’. The beats then took a Punjabi turn, featuring show-stopping spectacles ‘Jugni’ & ‘Laung Gawacha’.
The enchanting allure of Sufi melodies reached its pinnacle with foot-tapping songs such as ‘Lal Meri Pat’, ‘Aaj Rusva teri galiyo me’, ‘O mere dil ke chain’, ‘Oh Oh Jane Jaana’, ‘Gulabi Aankhen Jo Teri Dekhi’, ‘Roop Tera’, ‘Tere Jaisa Yaar Kahan’ and many more. This unforgettable Star Night etched a vibrant melody into the hearts of the young and exuberant audience.
