SRMS College of Nursing celebrated AIDS Day

SRMS College of Nursing celebrated AIDS Day on December 01, 2022 at nursing’s mini- auditorium and SRMS Hospital’s Seminar Hall. The theme of the day was ‘Equalize’ that meant to show support for people suffering from HIV-AIDS, and to remember those who died from AIDS-related illness. The day also raised awareness among the public about AIDS, and ways to remove the misconception prevailing in the society.
Conducted by the students of B Sc Nursing IInd Year batch 2020 and GNM III Year batch 2020 under the supervision and guidance of Vice Principal, Aneesh Chandran; Associate Professor, Parashram, and Assistant Professor Shabaz Khan, the program that involved various educational activities, was attended by the students of B Sc Nursing batch 2022-2021 and GNM batch 2020-2022 including all teachers of Nursing College.
On this day, an awareness rally was also carried at 10:00AM from SRMS Hospital and culminated at 11:30AM, wherein GNM II & III year, along with B Sc Nursing I year students took part. A role play was also conducted by GNM III year students, based on the AIDS Day theme. A panel discussion was an added highlight of the program. Moderator, Presha Maria Julious, along with Shivani Singh, Tarannum, Rimjhim, Shobha, Shraddha & Ankita gave their presentations. During the discussion, the responsibility of Nursing was also explained in the management of AIDS.
Later, Professor Rintu Chaturvedi, Principal SRMS College of Nursing interacted with all the students and cleared their queries on the topic.
