SRMS IMS Workshop – “Curriculum Implementation Support Program”

“Curriculum Implementation Support Program” Workshop was held from 1-3rd May 2019. The MCI appointed observer for the workshop was Dr. Juhi Kalra, Convener, Regional Centre, HIMS, Dehradun. The workshop was attended by 29 Faculty Members. The resource faculties for the workshop were Curriculum Committee Members. The workshop was aimed to sensitize all participating faculty members to the changes in competency based medical curriculum and prepare them to change their department teaching program as per the new competencies. Also they were sensitized to Foundation course, AETCOM module and electives which are the new elements included in competency based curriculum.

A workshop on “Research Protocol Writing” was held on 6th and 7th September 2019 under Dr. Padam Singh Research and Development Scheme in collaboration with ICMR- NIMS, ICMR-NICPR and sponsored by Institute of Applied Statistics. The workshop aimed to generate awareness, skills and tools to write a good research protocol. The eminent resource faculties for the workshop were Dr. Ratan Srivastava, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, IMS, Varanasi and Dr. Manushi Srivastava, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, IMS, Varanasi. The workshop was attended by first year Postgraduate students of the institute. The topics deliberated were on developing a research hypothesis, formulating research questions, writing the introduction, literature search and basic statistics to determine sample size, data collection methods etc,.
