September 30, 2023, Suicide Prevention Month activity was conducted by Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Nursing & Paramedical Sciences in Unnao. This event was organized for students of SRMS International Business School (SRMSIBS), and the event was encouraged and permitted by Shri Shymal Gupta. Sir, the Director of SRMSIBS and was supported by Prof. Manoj Pandey, the Dean of SRMSIBS. Prof. Shamil C.B. provided supervision throughout the preparation of the activity, and Ms. Divya Dhami served as the guide for this initiative.
The theme for this year’s Suicide Prevention Month activity was “Creating Hope Through Action.” This theme aimed to emphasize the importance of proactive measures and support for preventing suicide. The event commenced with an outstanding skit performed by GNM 2nd-year and GNM 3rd- year students. The skit depicted real-life situations and challenges that individuals facing emotional distress might encounter. Through this skit, the performers conveyed the importance of empathy, communication, and seeking help when needed.
The collaboration between different academic programs and the support of faculty members of SRMSIBS and SRMSNPS made this event a successful and meaningful endeavor in promoting mental health and well-being within the academic community. The hope is that the lessons learned from this event will continue to resonate with participants and contribute to a more supportive and empathetic campus environment.
