On 3 September, the Department of Electronics and Communication in Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology (SRMS CET), Unnao hosted a one-day workshop on ‘Electronic Circuits and Instrumentation’ for 1st and 2nd year students from all engineering branches and 4th year students pursuing Electronics and Communication.

Wih the technical sessions led by Dr Priyanka Jaiswal (Assistant Professor, Electronics and Communication), Dr Vikal Saxena (Assistant Professor, Physics), and Mr Sahbaz Alam (Assistant Professor, Electronics and Communication), the workshop focused on the basic functional understanding of electronic test instruments like Cathode Ray Oscilloscope, Digital Voltmeter, Function Generator, and DC Power Supply and their application. Students were familiarized with fault finding in commonly used electronic devices like P-N Junction Diode, Zener Diode, Light Emitting Diode, and Bipolar Junction Transistors (NPN and PNP). They also learnt about the specification, classification, and application of electrical components with the knowledge of analog instruments and bread board connection. In addition to hands-on exercises on basic circuit designing on bread board with measurement using electronic instruments, there was a Multiple Choice Question test.

Given the interactive nature of the workshop, students could present their queries and seek clarifications throughout the session. Informative and practice-oriented, this highly engaging workshop could address the diverse learning needs of students from across engineering disciplines.
