On account of World Cancer Day on February 4, RR Cancer Institute & Research Centre at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly is organizing a ‘SURVIVAL MEET’ at SRMS Alakhnanda Staff Club on February 4, 2023. The Survivors of Cancer, who were treated at SRMS IMS, and emerged as winners after battling their life against deadly disease, will be greeted and celebrated for their strength and perseverance on achieving this great milestone.
One such #CancerSurvivor, Lily Singh, 53, from Haldwani who was diagnosed with cancer around 12 years back, and now leading a normal life, shares, “It was way back in 2011 when doctors diagnosed me with cancer, and I immediately had gone to SRMS Hospital, where I met Dr Piyush Agarwal and Dr Arvind Agarwal. They spoke so gently and gave a motherly treatment to me, which left a great impact on me. They instilled hope and assured me that I will come out of it, and today, here am I. I am thankful to the doctors and all junior & senior staff of SRMS Hospital who took very good care of me throughout the treatment process.” On adding further, she adds, “Cancer is curable and we must not fear it! Being a cancer survivor myself, I feel that the will to live is a force within all of us to fight for survival, and we must not give-up at all.”
