On account of World Cancer Day on February 4, RR Cancer Institute & Research Centre at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly is organizing a ‘SURVIVAL MEET’ at SRMS Alakhnanda Staff Club on February 4, 2023. The Survivors of Cancer, who were treated at SRMS IMS, and emerged as winners after battling their life against deadly disease, will be greeted and celebrated for their strength and perseverance on achieving this great milestone.
Once such #CancerSurvivor, Shakuntala Khan, 60, from Moradabad, who was diagnosed with cancer in the year 2015, is fit, healthy and cancer-free. Speaking about her treatment and recovery, Shakuntala Khan said, “After being diagnosed with throat cancer in March 2015, I showed myself to a doctor in Moradabad, and then went to Mumbai for my Chemotherapy sessions. It was Dr Shukla from Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai who suggested me to get my treatment from SRMS Hospital Bareilly, since it was difficult to travel to Mumbai from Moradabad every now and then. I believe, coming to SRMS Hospital was the best decision made where I met Dr Piyush, who was very cooperative and gave me right guidance. I got my radiotherapies done at SRMS in a very systematic manner. Not only Dr Piyush, but the entire staff of SRMS attended and handled me efficiently, and took care of me in the best possible ways. It’s been 8 years that I have completely recovered from Cancer. I would like to say that one should not fear Cancer, and must get timely treatment with proper and expert guidance. Get yourself diagnosed and treated with the help and support of your family, which plays a great role. I am truly thankful to Dr Piyush and SRMS Hospital for keeping alive the ‘hope’ in me, and ensuring that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality.”
