SRMS students commemorate ‘WORLD PHARMACIST’S DAY’ with a series of competitive events

The ‘Pharmquimica Club’ of Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology organized the 6thWorld Pharmacists Day on 25th September, 2016.

As designated by FIP (International Pharmaceutical Federation), several years ago at the FIP Congress in Istanbul, 25th September marks World Pharmacists Day. FIP encourages the pharmacist to use this day to organize activities that promote and advocate the role of pharmacists in improving health in every corner of the world. ‘Pharmacists: Caring for you’ is the theme of this year’s World Pharmacists Day.

The inaugural session was led by Shri Aditya Murti, Secretary SRMS Trust. He said that Pharmacy is a vertical in healthcare system.. Dean Academics SRMSCET Prof. Prabhakar Gupta emphasized on the fact that Doctor& Pharmacist are pillars of health care system. Head of Department, Dr. Lalit Singh concluded that the theme “Pharmacists: Caring for you” reflects pharmacist’s emotional connection to patients and the important role they have in providing care to the public.

A tribute to late Shivang Sharma (B.Pharm 3rd year) was paid by the department.

Several students has participated in events organized on WORLD PHARMACIST DAY held on 25.09.2016 held at SRMSCET (Pharmacy), Bareilly & bagged various prizes in different events like Oral presentation, Poster presentation, Extempore & Pharma Talent Hunt.


  • In oral Presentation there were about 17 registered participants & among them Vaibhav Saxena (2nd year), Kartikey Rastogi & Divya Singh (3rd Year) got First, Second & Third prize respectively.


  • In Poster Presentation with the theme “Innovations in Pharmacy” there were about 25registered participants & among them Divya Singh (3rd Year) bagged first prize, Priya Tripathi (3rd Year) got Second prize& there was a tie up between Pankaj Kumar (3rd Year) and Chestha Kapoor (2nd Year) for Third prize.


  • In Extempore out of 14 registered participants Divya Singh (3rd Year), Khusboo Yadav (2nd Year) & Arpita Bhardwaj (1st Year) bagged First, Second & Third prize respectively.


  • In the cultural event i.e. Pharma Talent Hunt out of 11 participants first position was secured by AAS group ( 2nd Year)for Mime, Second prize was bagged by Shubham Goel & Adnan Khan (4th Year)in dance and third prize was secured by Priya Thapa (!st Year) in singing.


  • The highlight of the function was ‘Best Pharmacist Award-2016’ which was won by Madhurima Saha (4th Year) along with cash prize of Rs 2100/-
