STALWARTS OF ADVANCED TRAUMA LIFE SUPPORT (ATLS) VISTED SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES & ELEVATED TRAUMA CARE TRAINING!

SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly emerges as 2ND Institution in UP (after KGMU Lucknow) to coordinate prestigious 3-day Inaugural Course of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) recently, which saw stalwarts of ATLS sharing their expert views. Organized under aegis of ATLS India; American College of Surgeons-Committee on Trauma in collaboration with Department of Emergency Medicine & Trauma at SRMSIMS, it provided advanced trauma care training to enhance emergency medical response & trauma management skills.
Highlighting the course significance, Dr MC Mishra, ATLS India Chair & Ex-Director AIIMS, New Delhi, said, “The ATLS course was introduced in the year 2009 in India & I’m pleased to say that its 38th course was held at SRMS IMS, Bareilly—known for its quality healthcare services. The comprehensive course, based on theoretical, practical & skill-based sessions, sensitized medicos to efficiently manage trauma patients with severe head injuries, fractures, liver damage, gunshot wounds, road accidents etc. I also extend my gratitude to Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust & appreciate Dr Harshit Agarwal, Assistant Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine & Trauma at SRMSIMS for commendable set-up & efficient conduction of this course.”
Joining him, Dr Subodh Kumar, ATLS India Vice-Chair & Executive Director of NBEMS, New Delhi, who is currently a Professor of Surgery at AIIMS Trauma Center, shared, “The ATLS course equips medicos to efficiently handle complex injuries of road accidents along with providing high-quality care. This course has been running in India for 17 years across 34 centers, and it’s delightful to witness its conduction at SRMSIMS, Bareilly this time. Through this course, medicos were able to identify areas for improvement & minute details—all in a bid to save lives.”
