The Department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy started in the year 2006 and admitted the first batch of Post Graduate students in 2011. At present, the department trains 4 post graduate trainees every year with a focus on research, besides routine clinical work. Post graduate students are encouraged to participate in various Conferences, CME & Updates. Our Residents are our ‘Brand Ambassadors’, and our Post Graduate trainees have brought laurels to the department by bagging various best paper and poster presentations repeatedly, at various National and International level conferences on regular basis. The Department of Dermatology hospital in Bareilly is engaged in teaching undergraduate and post graduate students, patient care and research work simultaneously.

Senior residents of this department have been awarded prestigious traveling and training scholarships at National and International level, including World Congress of Dermatology. The Senior Residents have also been awarded with various fellowships by IADVL and ACSI in the past. Consultants of the departments constantly strive to upgrade themselves with latest advancements and technologies, wherein they have written Chapters in books as well, besides publishing Research and Review articles in reputed National and International journals. They have also been invited as Faculties at various, International, National and State Level conference intern. Moreover, department is actively involved in research and collaborating with institutes of national repute like PGIMER, Chandigarh and IVRI, Izzatnagar in multi-centric projects.

SPECIALITY CLINICS

Department runs specialty STI clinic on daily basis, which is catered and assisted by a STI counselor. STI clinic runs in close coordination with ICTC center. Also, several other weekly specialty clinics are being run by the Department including Bullous Disorder Clinic, Psoriasis Clinic, Autoimmune Diseases Clinic, Contact Dermatitis clinic, Vitiligo & Pigmentary Diseases Clinic and Leprosy Clinic. The department is involved in community health services at urban & rural health centers of SRMSIMS. Health data regarding Leprosy & STI clinics are submitted to CMO office on monthly basis, as a requirement under National Control Programs.
