About

The advance diagnostic centre of Radiodiagnosis houses 3-Tesla 48 channel MRI (SKYRA), 256 slice dual source (128x2) CT, High-end Siemens ACUSON-2000 USG scanner, GE- Voluson P8 -BT-22 USG machine, advance DEXA machine for bone mineral densitometry and a DSA lab for Neuro Imaging & Vascular interventions. A noninvasive treatment for varicose is also available by EVLT (Endovascular Laser Treatment).

Despite of routine MRI investigation, all specialized MRI investigations like perfusion & DTI for brain lesions/tumors, dynamic contrast study for brain, breast & body lesions, whole body metastatic screening, diffusion studies, spectroscopy & MR angiography / venography studies etc are routinely performed. In CT besides routine high quality studies with Multiplanner reconstructions, all angiographies including CT cardiac coronary angiography, triple phase liver studies and other dual energy CT procedures like identifications of gout crystals and uric acid renal stones etc are performed. Other advantages are faster scanning time & increased diagnostic accuracy.

ACUSON-2000, USG scanner which is capable to assess the hardness of liver, breast and thyroid lesions. It is helpful to evaluate liver hardness useful to diagnose cirrhosis. Besides diagnostic imaging, department routinely performs the Ultrasound & CT guided FNAC / Biopsies, Ultrasound guided tube drainage, Prostate biopsies, Prostate gold seed fiducial markers insertion and PTBD.

Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures can be less expensive, less risky and less painful than the traditional surgeries. In some cases they can even eliminate the need for you to be admitted to the hospital. Often times, IR procedures are more effective than the traditional surgical counterpart. No wonder, now days many surgeries are being switched to this method of treatment.

In interventional Radiology (IR), doctor use medical imaging modalities like fluoroscopy, MRI, CT and ultrasound to guide minimally invasive surgical procedures.

BROAD CATEGORY OF IR PROCEDURES

Angioplasty – Repair or unblocking of blood vessels

Stenting – Small mesh tubes that treat narrow weak arteries

Thrombolysis – Process of dissolving the blood clot

Embolization – Blocking blood flow to the cancer cells

Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA)– Used to reduce nerve pain / tumor ablation

Biopsy – Studies of tissues using radio imaging modalities
