Department of General Medicine, one of the biggest department of the institute works with a core mission of "Quality Care" which includes management of critically ill patients, preventive Medicine, palliative and geriatric care along with high standards of education and clinical research. This is accomplished by an experienced faculty with excellent professional ability, enthusiasm and a commitment to learning.

The department has 120 beds and functional 04 units with yearly intake of 12 PG's. It caters all variety of Medical patients with full fledged Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Endocrinology units along with other specialty clinics like Diabetic Clinic, Headache, Epilepsy and Hypertension clinics. All high standard investigations and procedures are being performed in the department which includes CAG, Angioplasty, Fetal Echo, Thrombolysis, permanent pacemaker implantation, ASD Device closure, IABP (Intra Aortic Baloon Pump), hemodialysis, SLED, CRRT Plasmapharesis, Native and transplant kidney biopsy, Arteriovenous fistula creation, Body composition analysis, Upper GI and Sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, Push Enteroscopy and ERCP.

The Nephrology Unit has also performed successful Kidney transplantation first ever in this area and we hope to cater more of such patients for this treatment. The department is successfully treating patients of PMJY be in critical area, Cardiac procedures or dialysis. Soon the department will provide facility of fibro scan which will strengthen the diagnosis and research work. Department has also started the clinical trials and hope to indulge more in these trials in coming future.
