SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES HOSTS 5TH COCHLEAR IMPLANT WORKSHOP: EXPERTS DISCUSS INNOVATIONS IN IMPLANTATION FOR DEFORMED COCHLEA & HEARING CARE ADVANCEMENTS!
The Department of Otorhinolaryngology & Head Neck Surgery (ENT) at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly recently conducted 5TH Cochlear Implant Workshop—Implantation in Deformed Cochlea, which brought together leading experts for insightful discussions on advancements in cochlear implantation techniques & innovations in hearing care.
The CME was inaugurated with ceremonial lamp lighting by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust; Aditya Murti, Director Administration & Guest of Honor, Dr Ashok Gupta, Ex-HOD, PGI Chandigarh & Director ENT at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. Dr MS Butola, Principal IMS; Dr Rohit Sharma, Professor & Head, ENT Department, IMS; Dr Bindu Garg, Dean UG; Dr Amit Kumar Rana & Dr Ashish Mehrotra, Associate Professors, Department of ENT, IMS were also present among other dignitaries.
The academic feast began with case-based surgical demonstration on Cochlear Implant by Dr Rohit Sharma, who further spoke on implantation in inner ear deformities. An enriching lecture was delivered on ‘Otoplan & Audiology in CI’ by Shubhangi Shree Bhatt, Senior Audiologist from MED-EL—world’s leading hearing implant company. Thereafter, Dr Vinit K Sharma, Professor & Head, LLRM, Meerut & Dr Amit Kumar Rana shared insights on ‘Radiology in Cochlear Implantation’ & ‘Candidacy for Cochlear Implant Surgery’ each. Soon after Chairman’s address, Dr Ashok Gupta spoke on minimizing complications & maximizing outcomes in Cochlear Implant. He also gave knowledgeable insights into attitude & practice towards Cochlear Implantation. Later, he also delivered case-based hands-on surgery session. Towards the end, Shri Dev Murti felicitated all the delegates & faculties with memento.
