SRMS INSTITUE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES MARKS A MILESTONE BY HOSTING FIRST-EVER NATIONAL ‘ONCO-LOGIC PANELS’, SETTING A NEW BENCHMARK IN RESIDENT-LED ONCOLOGY DISSCUSION
Marking its debut, the Department of Radiation Oncology at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly hosted the 1st Annual ‘Onco-Logic Panels’, a resident-driven academic forum “of, by and for residents.” Delegates, panellists and moderators participated actively, with top performers awarded prizes worth ₹2.30 lakh (₹15,000 each to 12 best panellists and ₹25,000 to the Best Moderator Team).
The event was graced by 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢 𝐃𝐞𝐯 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢 (Chairman & Founder, SRMS Trust), 𝐀𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐲𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐢 (Trust Secretary), Dr MS Butola (Principal, SRMS IMS), Dr Rohit Sharma (Dean PG), Col RP Singh (MS), alongside DSW, HOD’s and faculty of various IMS departments. As an added highlight, Dr NR Datta, a distinguished radiation oncologist (MGIMS, Wardha, who visited SRMS for the second time) reflected the institution’s growing academics and national engagement, in the presence of Dr Piyush Kumar, Director, RR Cancer Institute & Research Centre (SRMSIMS); Dr Himanshi Khattar, Organizing Secretary and many others.
The panel fostered open dialogue and peer learning among residents from diverse institutions across country like discussing molecular markers in brain and endometrial cancers, chemoradiation in head and neck cancer, adjuvant radiotherapy in early oral cancer, axillary management in breast cancer, dose escalation in oesophagus cancer, neoadjuvant therapy in rectal cancer, and second-line chemotherapy versus conservative care in visceral metastatic disease.
