NATIONAL EXPERTS CONVERGE at SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES for BAREILLY REVISION ARTHROPLASTY SYMPOSIUM 2026, ADVANCING 360° ELDERLY JOINT CARE
The Bareilly Orthopaedics Association hosted the two-day Bareilly Revision Arthroplasty Symposium 2026 at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly, under the aegis of UPOA and IAA, drawing faculty & experts from across India.
The symposium served as a vibrant platform of knowledge exchange, clinical expertise, and collaborative learning, which was aligned with IOA theme “Old is Gold: 360° Care for the Elderly Ensuring Mobility, Dignity, Longevity” and UPOA’s focus on “Bridging Tradition & Technology for Better Care.”
The symposium commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Chief Guest, Shri Dev Murti (Chairman, SRMS Trust); Guest of Honor Dr Raghvendra Sharma – an orthopedic surgeon & MLA, Bithri Chainpur, who began his professional journey from SRMS IMS, alongside Dr MS Butola (Principal, IMS); Dr Uttam Garg (Orthopedic Surgeon, VPIMS, Lucknow); Dr Vinod Pagrani (Vice-President, UPOA); Prof Dr Sanjay Gupta (Organizing Chairperson) & Dr Dhruv Goel (Organizing Secretary).
This 2-day course provided a clear and practical understanding of revision hip and knee replacement surgeries with surgical video demonstration, covering when and how replacements can be an essential, ways to avoid fractures during implant removal, techniques for rebuilding the hip joint, managing special and complex hip cases, and essential aspects of revision knee replacement, including safe implant removal and effective reconstruction methods. Towards the end, Shri Dev Murti felicitated the dignitaries with mementos & spoke on upcoming healthcare initiatives, further announcing that three new trauma centres are in the pipeline for Bareilly, aimed to be equipped with air ambulance facilities. Dr Dhruv Goel delivered the vote of thanks.
