SHRI RAM MURTI SMARAK INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES’ FREE CANCER SCREENING & AWARENESS WEEK MARKS ITS DAY-4 WITH A FOCUS ON LUNG CANCER AWARENESS!

Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences’ (SRMS IMS) FREE CANCER SCREENING & Awareness Week (July 1-6) in celebration of the institute’s 23RD FOUNDATION DAY (on July 4) witnesses its DAY-4 today with a focus on LUNG CANCER with engaging sessions on risks, symptoms & prevention of lung cancer.
The Day-4 saw the presence of two proud LUNG CANCER SURVIVORS namely Raja Baksh & Aan Singh, who shared their journey & stories of defeating lung cancer, and later were felicitated for their courage in adversity. Professor Dr Pavan Kumar, Department of Radiation Oncology, delivered awareness talk on cancer prevention, proactive measures and the importance of early detection, aided by a PPT presentation. The day further continued with an eye-opening skit by Nursing & Paramedical Students on timely medical intervention, precautions, while keeping quacks at bay.
Later, an insightful Panel Discussion was moderated by Professor Dr Piyush Kumar, Director, RR Cancer Institute with a team of panelists including Professor Dr SK Sagar, Head, Department of General Surgery; Professor Dr MP Rawal, Department of General Medicine; Professor Dr Sameer Rajeev Verma, Head, Department of Radio Diagnosis; Professor Dr Rajeev Tandon, Department of Respiratory Medicine, who raised awareness about the ill-effects of tobacco.
