SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES MARKS WORLD BIPOLAR DAY WITH CONVERSATIONS THAT MATTER

Mental health matters. And talking about it is where change begins…
At SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly, the World Bipolar Day wasn’t just observed, it was felt. The Department of Psychiatry brought together students, doctors, and faculty for a day dedicated to breaking stigma and building real awareness around mental health.
The session opened with traditional lamp lighting by Aditya Murti (Secretary, SRMS Trust) in the presence of faculties & doctors of Department of Psychiatry including Prof Dr PK Pardal (HOD), Prof Dr Deepak Charan, Dr Shikha Agarwal, Dr Supriya D’Silva and Dr Rupali Rohatgi.
The session kicked-off with an inspiring address by Prof Dr PK Pardal and Aditya Murti, reminding everyone why mental health conversations can no longer wait. It was attended by Dr MS Butola (Principal, IMS), Dr RP Singh (MS), Dr CM Chaturvedi (Deputy MS), Dr Rohit Sharma (Dean PG), Dr Bindu Garg (Dean UG), Dr Rajeev Tandon (Chief Proctor), Dr Kranthi Kumar (DSW) etc. A moving Nukkad Natak by MBBS students delivered a simple yet strong message ‘seeking help is strength, not weaknesses.
The day carried forward with a poster-making competition on “Psychiatry: Beyond Myths and Misconceptions” and an engaging quiz on General Psychiatry, where students didn’t just compete; they learned, questioned, and reflected.
