SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES OBSERVES NATIONAL ORGAN DONATION MONTH, SPREADING AWARENESS ON IMPORTANCE & NEED OF DONATING ORGANS

On account of National Organ Donation Month, Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly dedicated the months of JULY & AUGUST towards inspiring people to become organ donors. This two-month ongoing campaign at SRMS IMS in collaboration with Department of Community Medicine & Department of Ophthalmology has witnessed a series of events like Public Awareness Quiz, Street Play, Kavi Sammelan, Awareness activities on Organ Donation in Health Camps, Organ Donation Pledge Registration Drive & lot more.

Recently, a Public Awareness Quiz, conducted in patient waiting lounges of OPDs, educated PG residents, MBBS Interns, students & patients about the dire need to donate organs. This was followed by impactful Street Plays based on organ donation, performed by SRMS Institute of Paramedical Sciences (IPS) & SRMS College of Nursing students at SRMS Hospital’s reception area. The campaign reached its climax with Kavi Sammelan held at IMS, wherein UG & PG students of IMS, along with IPS students shared engaging, emotional & impressive poetry, highlighting the life-saving impact of pledging and donating organs.

Initially, the organ donation awareness campaign kicked-off with ‘Angdaan Jagrukta Abhiyaan’ at adopted villages in Abhyapur, RHTC & UHTC of SRMS IMS.
