WHEN LOVE GIVES LIFE: BALWINDER & SURJEET’S KIDNEY TRANSPLANT JOURNEY AT SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES

Sometimes, the greatest medicine is love. When 52-year-old Balwinder Singh from Uttarakhand was battling kidney failure, hope seemed distant, until his wife, Surjeet Kaur (48), chose to give him not just her support, but a part of herself.
Under the skilled hands of Dr (Prof) Sanjay Kumar, Consultant Nephrologist & Kidney Transplant Physician at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly, the transplant was a success. Today, 10 months later, Balwinder and Surjeet are living proof that life after such a battle can be brighter, fuller, and more meaningful.
This story is shared as part of World Organ Donation Day (on August 13) and our campaign ‘Angdaan – Jeevan Sanjeevani Abhiyaan’, to inspire more people to consider organ donation. Surjeet’s message is simple yet powerful, “If you can give life, don’t think twice; humanity is the greatest gift.”
