The Department of CSE and Value Addition Cell at SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR), Bareilly conducted a week-long workshop on ‘Data Structures Using Java’ under the supervision of IIC – SRMS CETR. Tailored for B Tech second-year students, the comprehensive workshop was led by Krishna Bhasin, Software Engineer at HashedIn by Deloitte, providing participants with hands-on experience in implementing essential data structures using Java.
The workshop began with an insightful session wherein Krishna Bhasin, an experienced industry expert and active contributor on platforms like LeetCode, CodeChef & GitHub, introduced the students to basic Java syntax, and walked them through practical implementation of arrays and linked lists, including memory management & performance considerations.
In the subsequent days, the workshop covered various topics through theoretical explanations and live coding demonstrations. Students actively participated in solving problems, building algorithms, and applying data structures in real-time programming tasks. These hands-on sessions focused on logic building and problem-solving techniques frequently used in technical interviews and competitive programming. Throughout the week, students engaged in interactive sessions, clarified their doubts, and tackled coding challenges to strengthen academic and industry-relevant skills. Towards the end, Krishna Bhasin felicitated all the participants with certificates.
Several other dignitaries were present including Dr Shailesh Saxena, Dean Academics & Dr KK Agarwal, DSW who emphasized the importance of skill-based learning to prepare students for future industry challenges.
