SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR), Bareilly organized an online Webinar on ‘MIC Programmes & Schemes’ under the aegis of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) for B Tech students. The enlightening session was delivered by Guest Speaker DR ABHAY JERE, Vice Chairman, AICTE & Chief Innovation Officer, Ministry of Education, Government of India who gave comprehensive insights into innovative ecosystems & collaborative strategies for technological advancement.
During the webinar, Dr Abhay Jere sensitized students on the evolving landscape of innovation & entrepreneurship & emphasized upon interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving & market-ready solutions. He stressed the importance of creating robust collaborative networks beyond traditional academic boundaries. He also highlighted how educational institutions can serve as powerful catalysts for technological & social innovation, and address real-world challenges.
Going further, Dr Jere spoke about YUKTI— a National Innovation Repository (NIR), an initiative of Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India and AICTE to build a system of repository of ideas, innovations & startups being developed in academic institutions. He focused on key strategies for intellectual property development & funding opportunities with practical guidance on IP filing, mentorship programs & various support mechanisms for young innovators.
