The Department of Hotel Management at SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR), Bareilly conducted its yet another engaging hands-on workshop on ‘Health is Wealth’ which saw enthusiastic participation of students from Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT) & B Tech (CS) . Undertaken by Sapna Thakur, Assistant Professor, Department of Hotel Management, the workshop focused on promoting healthy lifestyle with physical and mental well-being and importance of nutritious food.
The workshop began with introductory address by Dr Moushumi Banerjee, HOD, Department of Hotel Management wherein she emphasised upon the role of nutrition for overall well-being of mind, body & soul. Joining her, Sapna Thakur introduced students to various healthy cooking techniques along with tips to retain the food’s nutritive value. She also discussed the pivotal role that lifestyle, nutrition & holistic health plays together & urged students to adopt exercise in their daily lives and healthy eating habits.
Adding a practical element to the workshop, BHMCT students showcased their culinary skills with delicious preparations of Veg Manchow & Lemon Coriander Soup. Overall, the workshop gave budding chefs an insight into the ingredients & nutritional valueof various food preparations.
