Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering Technology & Research (SRMS CETR) Bareilly commemorated World Environment Day with an engaging ‘ Plantation Drive’ at its lush-green campus, symbolizing the institution’s commitment to restoring & preserving the environment. Based on this year’s theme, ‘Land Restoration, Desertification & Drought Resilience,’ the drive aimed to raise awareness about crucial environmental issues like climate change, global warming, extreme weather conditions, imbalanced ecosystems etc.
During the drive, , Dr LS Maurya, Principal SRMS CETR emphasized upon the urgent need to mitigate the ill-effects of environmental concerns, preserve the planet’s health& encouraged students to adopt sustainable practices. Following this, faculty members & students of the college actively participated in the plantation activity, planted various saplings while enhancing the campuses’ green cover. Overall, the plantation drive was a collaborative initiative, with enthusiastic involvement of students, faculties as well as staff, who successfully promoted environmental consciousness and community engagement, making environment day celebration a significant day to address environmental challenges, and contributing towards sustainable environmental practices.
