ENHANCING OPHTHALMIC SKILLS: SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES HOSTS ‘PHACOSHALA’ WORKSHOP ON VIRTUAL REALITY

The Department of Ophthalmology at SHRI RAM MURTI SMARAK INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (SRMS IMS), Bareilly recently conducted a 2-day PHACOSHALA — a Phaco training session as part of the FIDELIS PROGRAM, titled ‘Fidelis Virtual Reality Phaco SRMS WET LAB WORKSHOP’.

The program was inaugurated and attended by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman, SRMS Trust, wherein our dedicated students/ resident doctors / JRs & SRs gained invaluable training & skills in phacoemulsification through hands-on practice and cutting-edge virtual reality simulations.

In this regard, Professor Dr Neelima Mehrotra, Head, Department of Ophthalmology at SRMS IMS said, “The Dept of Ophthalmology holds a special place in performing technologically advanced Phacoemulsification surgery with implantation of premium IOLs, thereby benefiting patients who place their trust in us. We impart skills & teach to adopt ethical practices to our residents/ JRs & SRs, and make them world-ready, when they step out of this institution. PHACOSHALA—a regular residents Phaco training program is a regular feature & this time, we conducted it in the form of FIDELIS Program, done on Virtual Reality, which was a great learning experience.”
