FROM TEXTBOOKS TO TOMORROW’S TREATMENTS: SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES’ HOSTS NATIONAL CME ON CLINICAL EMBRYOLOGY
How do classroom concepts become life-changing clinical breakthroughs! Answering this, the Department of Anatomy, SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly successfully hosted a National CME on “Clinical Embryology: From Textbook to Test Tubes – Bridging the Gap Between Basic Science and Clinical Practice,” bringing together 200+ delegates from across India and overseas through both offline & online participation.
The CME was inaugurated by Shri Dev Murti (Founder & Chairman, SRMS Trust) in the presence of Aditya Murti (Director Administration, SRMS IMS), Er Subhash Mehra (Trust Advisor), Dr MS Butola (Principal, SRMS IMS) and legendary anatomist Dr Vishram Singh (Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Anatomical Society of India & Adjunct Visiting Professor, KMC, Mangalore). Eminent speakers included Dr Kaushik Mandal, Dr Pragya Tripathi, Dr Anju Lata Verma, Dr Yatinder Verma, while renowned anatomy educator Dr Ashwani (Marrow) graced the occasion as the Star Guest.
Scientific deliberations focused on the rising incidence of congenital anomalies and malformations, prenatal diagnosis, clinical embryology beyond textbooks, and the fascinating journey from gamete to birth. A truly memorable moment was the felicitation of 12 living body donors by Shri Dev Murti, honouring their selfless contribution to medical education.
Welcoming the delegates, Dr Namita Mehrotra (Professor and Head, Department of Anatomy, SRMSIMS) highlighted the importance of integrating embryology with clinical practice to strengthen patient care and medical education. Accredited with 3 Credit Hours by UP Medical Council, the CME concluded with scientific paper and poster presentations, where Adya Jha, Tulsi Gupta, and Priyanshi (MBBS Batch 2025) received the Best Presenter Awards. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Dhananjay Kumar (Organizing Secretary), while the scientific sessions were conducted by Dr Samta Tiwari (Co-Organizing Secretary & Chairman, Scientific Session).
