Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF) — a debilitating condition causing constant urine leakage due to an abnormal bladder-vaginal connection, which once left countless women in physical distress and social isolation, is now being effectively treated with precision & renewed confidence at SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (IMS), Bareilly, under the expert hands of Dr (Col) Manoj Kumar Tangri, Professor, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Consultant Gynae Onco-Endoscopic Surgeon. He has recently performed multiple successful VVF repairs, restoring dignity and wellness in women.

On this note, Dr Tangri says, “VVF is not just a physical ailment—it’s a social & emotional burden that many women silently endure. Our goal is not only to repair the fistula but to restore confidence, dignity, and normalcy in our patients’ lives.”

Take a look at a few cases, though different in complexity that has been met with dedication & surgical excellence at SRMS IMS:

Talking about Gulnaz, a 27-year-oldfrom Shahjahanpur, who began experiencing continuous urinary leakage following a cesarean section due to obstructed labor. Diagnosed with VVF at the bladder neck, she underwent a transvaginal VVF repair, and was discharged completely dry & pain-free, on her path to full recovery.

Similarly, Guddo, 37, from Kasganj, developed symptoms of VVF following a total abdominal hysterectomy at a local center. Her diagnosis confirmed a post-surgical VVF, wherein, she underwent a successful transvaginal VVF repair & was discharged smoothly.

Preeti, a 28-year-old from Budaun, who suffered a severe supratrigonal VVF after a difficult delivery. Her complex condition required transabdominal VVF repair under general anesthesia. She was carefully monitored for post-op recovery & successfully discharged.
