On account of WORLD HEALTH DAY, Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly conducted a Free Health Checkup Camp, wherein 200 people were screened for Type 2DM, Hypertension & Coronary Artery Disease. The camp offered several tests & investigations including Lipid Profile, HbA1C, TSH, Uric Acid, RBS, Peripheral Neuropathy, BMD, Serum Creatinine, SGPT, SGOT & ECG with additional 15% discount on other tests.
In the beginning of Health Education & Awareness programme, Air Marshal Dr MS Butola, Principal SRMS IMS & Professor Dr Smita Gupta, HOD, Department of General Medicine highlighted on importance of health on the theme, ‘My Health, My Right’. Thereafter, Dr Deepak Das, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine spoke on heart health; Dr Ruchi Gupta, Sr Interventional Cardiologist, Jaipur on ‘How to Keep our Heart Healthy’; Dr Meenakshi Awasthi, Associate Professor, BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur on Adult Immunization; Professor Dr Huma Khan, HOD & Professor Dr M P Rawal, Department of General Medicine, IMS emphasized on ‘Holistic Approach to Health’ & ‘Prevention of Non-Communicable Disease’ respectively. Later, Professor Dr Bindu Garg, HOD of Physiology hosted a panel discussion.
Department of Community Medicine, IMS promoted health advocacy among students & community via WHO IAPSM Quiz under the guidance of Dr Abhinav Pandey, Associate Professor. This was followed by multiple health camps at Banjara Jagir, Bhojipura; Bans Mandi, Bareilly & Multi-Specialty health camp at village Attapati (Bhojipura), wherein nearly 97, 220 & 211 patients received free consultations & medications respectively, along with personalized prescriptions/ investigations to address individual health needs. The camp also saw Thematic Poster Presentation & Awareness Talks, organized by Department of Community Medicine, IMS. A total of 40 patients at RHTC, 46 at UHTC, 150 at Hospital on Wheels & 45 at Bhairpura availed these services, reflecting the commitment of SRMS IMS to promote community health.
