SHRI RAM MURTI SMARAK INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES HOSTED ‘UGRA WORKSHOP 2024’ EXPLORING NEW FRONTIERS

The Department of Anesthesiology Critical Care & Pain Management at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly organized Didactic Lectures & Hands-on workshop, titled ‘UGRA WORKSHOP 2024’ (Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia) on the theme Exploring New Frontiers for Old Skills. Being the first USG guided workshop, it was an excellent opportunity for all delegates to empower themselves with new knowledge & practices in various nerve blocks.
The event began with insightful lectures on Introduction to USG Basics, Erector Spine Block-Head to Toe Block for Various Surgeries Instead of Spine Surgery, etc. This was followed by hands-on workshop comprising of 90 delegates, under the guidance of Dr Juhi Saran, HOD, Department of Anesthesiology, IMS; Organizing Chairperson Dr Geeta Karki, Professor; Organizing Secretary Dr Gaurav Mishra, Associate Professor & Joint Organizing Secretary Dr Alankrita Agarwal, Assistant Professor.
The delegates present at the event, learned about using regional anesthesia techniques. However, they understood methods that could make anesthesia safer for high-risk patients, help avoid ICU admissions, slipping of patients into COMA, step down long hospital stays postoperatively, along with advancement in the field of Anesthesiology using third eye of Anesthetist: THE USG MACHINE.
The engaging sessions were delivered by Dr Bhuwan Chand Pandey, Dr Anirban Roy, Dr Savitar Malhotra from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi; Dr Anshuman Mishra & Dr Nivedita Garg from Yatharth Hospital, Greater Noida; Dr Debyani Dey, Kailash Deepak Hospital, Delhi; Dr Naveen Gupta & Dr Anurag Chaturvedi from Max Vaishali Hospital, Delhi & Dr Pallavi Ahluwalia, TMU Hospital, Moradabad. Earlier, the conference was inaugurated by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust & Aditya Murti, Trust Secretary in the presence of Dr Rohit Sharma, Dean PG.
