SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES’ FREE CANCER SCREENING & AWARENESS WEEK CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY ON DAY-6 CENTERED ON PROSTATE CANCER WITH OVERWHELMING PARTICIPATION!

A FREE CANCER SCREENING & AWARENESS WEEK (July 1-6) at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences’ (SRMS IMS), Bareilly in commemoration of its 23rd Foundation Day, wrapped-up today, on DAY-6, focusing on PROSTATE CANCER, where men were educated to maintain prostate health.
However, the week-long cancer awareness initiative put a spotlight each day on various cancers, including, Cervix, Breast, Oral Cavity, Lung, Colon & Prostate Cancer.

The DAY-6 began with felicitating two CANCER SURVIVORSEr Subhash Mehra, SRMS Trust Advisor & SS Seth, a bank official from Bareilly, in the presence of Er Suresh Sundrani, Member of Board of Governors. The inspiring journey of Cancer Survivors on battling cancer with courage, motivated the attendees to the fullest.

Dr Ayush Garg, Associate Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology, spoke on prostate cancer, its risk factors, screening methods & treatment advancements. Dr (Col) RP Singh, Medical Superintendent spoke on community services & cancer screening facilities available at SRMS Hospital. He also briefed about VARDAAN Clinic—a pioneering initiative of SRMS IMS. Later, MBBS students (Batch 2022) performed a skit, signifying early detection & timely intervention in combating Prostate Cancer.

Later, Panel Discussion by Professor Dr Piyush Kumar Agarwal, Director, RR Cancer Institute took place along with panelists—Dr Arvind Kumar Chauhan, Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology; Dr Adadi Srinivasa Naidu, Medical Oncologist; Dr Namrata Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Radio Diagnosis & Dr Siddhant Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of General Surgery, where innovative approaches & interdisciplinary care strategies of Prostate Cancer were discussed.
Overall,7-Day Free Cancer Screening & Awareness Program was a huge success with overwhelming participation, raising awareness & providing essential screenings.
