SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES HONORS CANCER SURVIVORS WITH GRAND FELICITATION ON WORLD CANCER DAY 2025!
Celebrating resilience and hope, and in alignment with WORLD CANCER DAY 2025 on, ‘United by Unique’ theme RR Cancer Institute & Research Centre at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly organised a grand felicitation event to honor ‘Cancer Survivors’ at SRMS Alakhnanda Staff Club, which was graced by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust, Aditya Murti, Director Administration; Dr MS Butola, Principal IMS; Dr RP Singh, MS; Dr Piyush Kumar Agarwal, Director, RR Cancer Institute & other dignitaries.
The ceremony began with an introduction on World Cancer Day by MOC, Dr Rashika Sachan, Assistant Professor, Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr Piyush delivered a welcome address, highlighting the institute’s 18-year journey, its advanced facilities & cutting-edge technology. Soon after, an impactful video presentation showcased the journey & thoughts of cancer survivors being cured at SRMSIMS. Later, a heart-touching poem ‘ भ्रम’ was recited by Dr Misha Garg, JR-1. The day carried on further with a powerful nukkad natak by junior residents, on the importance of early cancer detection, its treatment etc. Thereafter, Prof. Dr Manoj Kumar Tangri Professor, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology delivered cancer awareness talk on gynecological cancers, importance of screening & HPV vaccination.
At the end, Shri Dev Murti felicitated all cancer survivors including Vijay Kumar Gupta, Om Sheela Gaur, Khushnuma & Ram Prasad (Baheri); Chokhey Singh & Shakuntala Khan (Moradabad); Anita Agarwal, Shashi Bala, Sangita Agarwal, Brijpal Singh, Bimla Devi, Asma (Bareilly); Resham Singh (Shahjahanpur); Kamla (Haldwani); Rama Devi & Maha Singh (Uttarakhand) & many others with gift hampers.
