SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES HOSTS ADVANCED CME ON ‘MEDICAL ETHICS, GOOD CLINICAL PRACTICE & CLINICAL RESEARCH METHODOLOGY’ WITH FACULTIES FROM PGIMER CHANDIGARH!

The Department of Medical Education at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly organized a one-day CME on Medical Ethics, Good Clinical Practice & Clinical Research Methodology’ in collaboration with Experimental Pharmacology Laboratory (EPL), Department of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, which was attended by 80 Postgraduate students to enhance their understanding of ethical practices, clinical research & methodologies in medical field.

The knowledge-driven session kicked-off with an insightful deliberation on ‘Hypothesis Testing in Clinical Research’ & ‘How to Conduct Clinical Trial/Clinical Research, Basic Concept & Good Clinical Practice’ by a distinguished faculty, Professor Bikash Medhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh. He further touched upon topics like ‘How to Register in CTRI/Clinical Trial.gov.com-NIH’, ‘Record Keeping & Archival of Essential Documents’ etc. He was joined by informative address on ‘Study Designs in Clinical Research/Clinical Trials’, ‘Statistical & Clinical Significance of Clinical Trial Data’ & ‘Randomization, Sample Size Calculation, Data Entry & Result Representation’ by Dr Ajay Prakash from PGIMER, Chandigarh. Later, Dr Inderjeet Singh Hura, Deputy Drug Controller, CDSCO, Delhi shared insights on ‘Regulation of Clinical Trials’ with updates on new drugs, clinical trial rules etc.

Earlier, the CME was inaugurated by Chief Patron Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust who stressed upon need & importance of such specialized training programs, in the presence of Patron Air Marshal Dr MS Butola, Principal SRMS IMS; Dr (Col) RP Singh, Medical Superintendent; Dr Rohit Sharma, Dean PG; Organizing Chairperson Dr Jaswinder Singh, Professor & Head, Forensic Medicine; Co-organizing Secretary Dr G Kranthi Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Physiology & Professor Dr Sandhya Chauhan, Department of Pediatrics—the Organizing Secretary & MOC of CME.
