SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES SPREADS LIFE-SAVING VACCINE AWARENESS DURING WORLD IMMUNISATION WEEK!

In a dynamic observance of World Immunization Week, the Departments of Community Medicine and Paediatrics& Neonatology at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly conducted a series of engaging activities to highlight the critical role of vaccines in public health. Centered on this year’s theme, ‘Immunization for All is Humanly Possible’, the week-long initiative aimed to educate & protect all age groups from vaccine-preventable diseases.
The campaign began with a health talk at RHTC, Dhaura Tanda by Dr Ruchi Arun & Dr M Geeta, followed by an awareness session at UHTC, Bareilly led by Dr Rupali Gupta , Dr RC Gupta & Dr Preeti Dwivedi. These sessions focused on Universal Immunization Programme (UIP), busting myths & clarifying immunization schedules.
As part of Family Adoption Program, a Health Camp on immunisation & nutrition at Amberpur village was conducted for children under-5. Around 80 patients received medication & 26 tests for RBS & Hb were conducted.MBBS Batch-2022 brought awareness through a compelling act on measles, comparing outcomes of vaccinated versus unvaccinated children. Meanwhile, an interactive UG quiz for MBBS Batch 2021 & 2022, led by Dr Abhinav Pandey & Dr Archita, tested knowledge on vaccination & VPD surveillance, with Varnika & team emerging as winners.
Reaching underserved areas, awareness talks by Dr Abhijeet, Dr Priyanka & Dr Archita via the Telemedicine Bus, Bhairpura Telemedicine Centre & Hospital on Wheels (Mobile Health Unit) respectively, engaged the crowd, offering virtual consultations on vaccination. The initiative was conducted under the guidance of Prof Dr Huma Khan , Head, Department of Community Medicine, making it a powerful drive towards building an informed, immunized community.
